The challenge
Koneo mobile advertising platform has increased volume of traffic served and existing batch data-processing jobs written in PHP were failing to process all data in time. Also, CloudSQL database with a star schema, which was used for analytics, were not able to keep up with data volumes growth.

Koneo mobile advertising platform has increased volume of traffic served and existing batch data-processing jobs written in PHP were failing to process all data in time. Also, CloudSQL database with a star schema, which was used for analytics, were not able to keep up with data volumes growth.
The results
Now that the new data analytics stack is implemented the platform can process 10x amounts of data in a cost-efficient way by using Cloud Dataflow in the streaming mode with autoscaling enabled. BigQuery data warehouse allows to analyse huge amounts of data in couple minutes.
